Phase II: Insights from Tomorrow’s Engineers
Meeting Report 2017
TUEE Phase II invited students to express their views on the strengths and weaknesses of the current chronological curricular structure and teaching methodologies. Students concluded that their institutions were paying insufficient attention to multiple KSAs needed to produce the desired T-shaped professional. They criticized how courses are taught and urged a greater emphasis on instructor training. They also called for greater faculty diversity in terms of gender and ethnicity, and stressed that industry experience can enhance teacher’s performance.
